Coyote moon series Living in the mountains, in the woods, it’s so quiet and peaceful at night. I hold this image, of woodland creatures sneaking into our homes at night, and into our heart’s, leaving behind ghostly impressions of themselves. Remnants of their wild and elusive natures, and reminders of their tender and precarious lives. The Coyote Moon piece was created after I hit a coyote pup on the highway, instantly killing it. As habitats shrink and wildlife is further stressed, there is a sense of loss that we are all grappling with. I want to hold onto these creatures, create a snapshot, a moment in time, capturing their shy, innocent, and fleeting natures.
