In this work, I explore ideas of duality and transformation rooted in the visual language of ancient Andean art and connected to cultural identity in the contemporary world. Duality is emphasized not as a representation of gender, but as a reflection on the relationship between two opposing spaces and experiences that I have lived between. Through the use of two mirrored figures, I explore the unsettling space between the artwork and the viewer, creating a moment of reflection between the past and the present. The work narrates experiences that reconnect me with my origins and examines the ways I maintain the continuity of my cultural inheritance through memory, identity, and artistic practice.Try it!
