My painting navigates through the visual language of ancient Andean culture, creating my own utopian world within contemporary culture. In the ancient Andean world, people from the highland regions honored dualism as part of their beliefs and everyday lives through their cosmological worldview. I bring this concept of duality into my work as a reflection of who I am, the relationship between opposing forces, and how we understand the before and after through transformation and continuity.
