Ibeyís represents the twin orixás who protect childhood, here embodied as archetypal creatures with elongated necks reminiscent of giraffes from the African savannah. These figures contain a sacred duality: play and power.
Their long necks are covered with graphics inspired by Bantu peoples, acting as visual codes of protection and heritage-an ancestral amulet guarding the vital core, just as the Ibeyís protect the early years of existence.
The geometric composition of crossing paths suggests transit, destiny, and connections between worlds. On this symbolic territory float essential life forms-foods that have nourished the history and resistance of Afro-descendant peoples in the Americas.
Like the Ibeyís who are not embodied but play, this work does not represent-it activates: it provokes, protects, and moves.Try it!
