Description
Nhe’ẽ mbyte portrays a Black body curled inward, hugging its legs in a fetal-like pose that evokes the womb, deep sleep, or a return to origin. It floats in a fertile, silent space where two red circles orbit like subtle presences. These forms refer to the Guaraní concept of nhe’ẽ mbyte—"twin souls" that accompany the nhe’ẽ porã (soul-word), yet remain fragile and volatile. Part of the Bacteria – Magnifying Glass of Life series, the piece treats the body as a symbolic and narrative surface. Here, the microscopic becomes metaphysical: the body is a field of expanding forces inhabited by shadows, dreams, and spiritual echoes. Inspired by the Guaraní belief that each person is a cosmos in constant transformation, the work offers a vision of the soul as plural, unstable, and deeply interconnected with invisible realms. Through a symbolic and fluid visual language, Nhe’ẽ mbyte becomes a meditation on inner balance, impermanence, and the subtle powers that shape our being.
