My painting practice is rooted in a deep commitment to the symbolic reconstruction of erased memories. As an Afro-Brazilian woman living in Mexico, I work from a place of critical sensitivity, tracing the colonial impact on bodies, knowledge, and Afro-Indigenous cultures across Latin America. I approach painting as poetic resistance and visual archive. My aesthetic blends pop surrealism and figurative abstraction with a perspective I define as anthropophagic—a Brazilian artistic gesture that does not merely replicate, but devours, transforms, and re-signifies what it inherits. Through vibrant colors, rhythmic patterns, and symbolic forms, I build visual universes where hybrid beings, ancestral echoes, and living mythologies emerge. Inspired by diasporic memory, microscopic life, and spiritual transformation, each work becomes a ritual of remembrance and renewal. My art reclaims what was silenced and imagines future narratives where the complexity of Brazilian identity is visible and celebrated.
