In Masks Within, the artist invites us to pierce the veil of appearances and dive into the many layers that shape human identity. The piece presents a vibrant ensemble of faces—each unique, each fantastical—as if emerging from a shared dream or a collective unconscious. Drawing from urban art, the work pulses with raw urgency. Each face is built like a colorful scream—a layering of visceral strokes, chaotic patterns, and symbols seemingly lifted from a living sketchbook. These figures coexist in a compressed space, and through their masks, they reveal multiple versions of the self: the intimate self, the social self, the imagined self. The dense composition, the lack of traditional perspective, and the intense gaze of each face offer a dissonant reflection of our shared humanity. It is a celebration of inner multiplicity, expressive imperfection, and the freedom to exist in many forms—forms that, at times, scream to break free into the streets.
