Samantha Redfern

Samantha Redfern is a British-born fine artist who has been living in Singapore for the past 10 years. She graduated from Bath Spa University in 2004. Samantha initially pursued a successful career in software sales before having her three children and dedicating herself full-time to her artistic journey. She has exhibited her work in countries including Canada, South Korea, France, the United States, China, Taiwan, the UAE, Italy, and Singapore. The figurative series you see here is one of deep poignance and reflection. Following her father’s cancer diagnosis, the artist underwent her own medical check-up, where a cancerous mass was discovered. This profound moment became the catalyst for an intimate exploration of vulnerability, resilience, and the human form. Through this body of work, she honours the body as both fragile and powerful—reclaiming agency and selfhood in a time of uncertainty. The series stands as a tribute to strength found through introspection and the quiet reclamation of power when faced with fear.
