My journey as an artist began in childhood, in a home where creativity was encouraged. I studied art at college and later completed an honours degree in Fine Arts at university. Recently, I studied painting at two renowned British art schools: The St Ives School of Painting and the Newlyn School of Art, both in Cornwall, UK. As an expressive, abstract artist, I don’t seek to replicate the outer world with realism. I create abstract works that unfold through intuitive layers of paint and mixed media, each mark a reflection of remembered places and fleeting moments. My work evolves organically, often without a preconceived plan. I work intuitively, layering textures, colours, and forms, and I embrace spontaneity, allowing unexpected discoveries to shape each piece. The process is one of dialogue—responding to what emerges, making decisions moment by moment, adding marks, and layers until the work feels complete. Through my work, I seek to evoke emotion, inviting viewers to engage and form a personal connection with the subject matter. I hope that when you look at my work, you’ll find your connections, your moments of insight. Art has the power to evoke memories, emotions, and new ways of seeing, and it’s my deepest wish that my work speaks to you in some way. Exhibitions: I am currently exhibiting at the Greytown Art Gallery. Previous Exhibitions: Artbourne, Taranaki Art Awards, New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, Kotare Art, and the Aratoi Museum of Art and History. My artworks are held in private collections worldwide.
