I'm all about the JOY OF THE JOURNEY. I am always painting for myself and the joy that the process brings me. I hope that some of my work might bring to you the joy that it brings to me. When creating I intuitively respond to how the work makes me feel. I explore, express and experiment until the work settles and speaks its story. I never approach a work with any preconceived idea of where it might end up or where I want it to go - or even what colour it might end up being. By intuitively reacting to the marks and colours in front of me the work morphs and evolves. It is the history and evolution of the work that keeps me stimulated and the 'not knowing' provides me the opportunity to create with freedom and playfulness. Each and every work has its own unique journey - its own story and its own history. It is the history that lies - sometimes hidden, but often vaguely visible in the work, that I love and I believe contributes greatly to the depth and generosity of the completed work. I have been painting for many years and have sold works both nationally and internationally. I am self-taught, however do continue to expand my learnings regularly with workshops and tutor-ships. I have been fortunate to have been awarded a couple of art prizes in local competitions in recent years. I am delighted to have gallery representation with Aspire Gallery in Brisbane.
