My paintings combine figurative imagery, symbolism, and a touch of visual humor to explore identity, power, and the social roles we inhabit. Familiar elements—corporate suits, family dynamics, religious references, clocks, emojis, and popular culture—appear in scenes that feel recognizable yet slightly off balance. I am drawn to the tension between what is presented on the surface and what lies beneath. While the work addresses contemporary issues and cultural expectations, it often does so with irony, visual playfulness, and unexpected details. Hidden references and "easter eggs" invite viewers to look again and discover new layers of meaning over time. Working in acrylic, I build luminous surfaces through layers of translucent glazes, creating depth, atmosphere, and rich color relationships. My goal is to create paintings that are visually engaging from across a room while rewarding closer inspection with narrative, humor, and surprise.
