"Picture with dogs."
Description
Helga Bahmer’s photographs in Zingst blend documentary observation with a poetic staging of the self. Inspired by Martin Parr’s perspective on mass tourism, she explores the tensions between beach culture, architecture, and identity. Her images reveal the duality of the seaside town, between idyll and spectacle, retreat and consumption. Unlike Parr, her gaze is softer, rooted in personal perception rather than sharp satire. Zingst becomes a stage where identity and society are continuously renegotiated.Try it!
