Description
Shona Woman is a refined stone sculpture that expresses feminine strength, balance, and inner dignity through abstracted form. The rounded, interlocking shapes suggest protection, continuity, and quiet authority, reflecting the Shona understanding of womanhood as the spiritual and emotional anchor of family and community. Kuvenguhwa’s polished surfaces and subtle curves invite touch and contemplation, while the compact composition conveys resilience and self-containment. Rather than literal depiction, the sculpture captures essence—honouring Shona women as bearers of life, wisdom, and cultural stability across generations. Was shown at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe in the 90's and won 2nd prize in the Mobil Zimbabwe Heritage Event
