Years later, the artist revisited her grandparents, capturing a photograph of them, but the encounter brought no peace. It wasn't until she became a grandmother herself, and her grandparents had passed away, that she found a sense of resolution. By cutting the photograph and creating a ladder to symbolically send them to eternity, she transformed a painful memory into a powerful work of art.
