Allow me to introduce myself; my name is John but, I am known by my artistic pseudonym, YANIS. As a designer and digital artist, I prefer using music and my ‘Digital Canvas’ over traditional mediums. This unique approach fuels my creativity, allowing me to explore art in new ways. My work, which I call ‘Abstractus Geometricus,’ blends genres, digital abstraction, and geometric forms. From a young age, solitude has been my sanctuary, where my creativity thrives, turning abstract thoughts into unique visual art. This passion has stayed with me throughout my career. My high school teacher, Mr. Brian Worsey, was instrumental in nurturing my love for art. He encouraged me to embrace creativity and see beauty in form, function, color, and abstract shapes, strengthening my resolve to follow my unique artistic path. Influenced by Wassily Kandinsky and Abstract Expressionism, my work blends colors, shapes, and textures into a visual symphony. Abstract and geometric art guide me through life’s complexities, helping me explore shape, colour, form, and composition to evoke emotions. My art examines attitudes, emotions, and fears, inspired by the cultural revolution of the 1960s. Each piece reflects musical narratives, from Rap and Jazz to Pop, Rock, and Classical. My technical skills allow me to create digital art that resonates deeply, often incorporating spirituality, nature, and human experiences, inviting introspection. I aim to inspire hope and encourage viewers to interpret art uniquely, appreciating the beauty in their surroundings. For me, creativity navigates life’s uncertainties, expressing emotions and guiding us through life’s maze.
