Linoprint on rice paper.
Unframed.
I saw an opportunity to create work in response to Standen House, an arts and crafts house owned by the national trust. I researched the house, and found that the décor was mostly by William Morris. I decided to create a piece incorporating Willow, one of his most well known wall paper designs, with some of the vases in the house. I then made a series of different lino prints, all featuring willow and vases.
This one is a silhouette of three vases, including one designed by William de Morgan, against a backdrop of willow leaves. This one I printed in just one colour, on thin rice paper, that is handmade. I feel this fits the ethos of the arts and crafts movement, which developed as a response to the industrial age and machinery replacing works by hand.
The piece is unframed and unmounted, if it is required I can mount and frame, at extra cost.
