OtherDescription
From the new collection Day of the Dead. The picture is influenced by Aztecs rituals honouring death and the cyclical nature of life. One festival dedicated to Mictecacihuatl, the goddess of the underworld, included offerings of food and flowers, especially Marigolds. These rituals were subsequently blended with Spainish Catholic influences, forming the celebrations we know as Day of the Dead.
