Winter holidays in the North Island. 
Exploring New Zealand an island at the time.
we left Central Otago and minus something degres to get some warmth. (15-17 C) tropical
the weather was amazing, the island was desert, and this feeling of back season floated everywhere we went (in the only rental car on the island) I sat in the grass there and sketched this beach. I was taken by the black sand and the ochre cliff. I couldn't have enough. But while painting the scene, i got lost in the rainbow of greens and the blue shape in the background. Odd feeling to realize that i was not seeing what i thought was there.
