Encroaching Urbanisation

AcrylicDescription
This artwork is my visual representation of the relentless spread of urban development in once-natural rural environments. Abstract shapes of rust, charcoal and white rise across the canvas like clustered dwellings pressing into space and crowding out the organic. Through personal experience and place based memory this piece speaks to the subtle grief of encroachment and the emotional complexity of watching familiar places change while still understanding the need for development. I just wish it could occur in a more sensitive and sustainable fashion.
