I have been meaning to create a red squirrel painting for many years but when I saw Michelle Coyle's photo I decided this was the time. Michelle kindly allowed me to use the photo for reference and I hope she feels I have done this justice As usual, I created this detailed pastel artwork with soft pastels and pastel pencils on Artspectrum Colourfix pastel paper. The sharpened pencils create the detail and the background is blended using polystyrene sticks to give the three-dimensional effect to the completed pastel painting of this cheeky red squirrel. This unique and detailed pastel artwork is 10 inches by 14 inches and supplied with a gold frame, 21 inches by 17 inches.
