Homenagem à Mãe: De acordo com relatos do próprio ateliê do artista, J. Borges entalhou esta matriz em memória de sua mãe. Sempre que ela passava por um momento de grande emoção, forte afeto ou apreensão pelo destino dos filhos, costumava dizer que estava com o "coração na mão". Essa expressão popular do interior nordestino foi eternizada pelo mestre na madeira.
Tribute to Mother: According to accounts from the artist's own studio, J. Borges carved this mold in memory of his mother. Whenever she experienced a moment of great emotion, strong affection, or apprehension about the fate of her children, she used to say that she had her "heart in her hand."
