Rabarbari-Tröllasúra is my new photographic obsession and a love I brought back from Iceland. This plant arrived on the island around 1880 and, over time, became an integral part of Icelandic culture and cuisine. In Icelandic folklore, it symbolizes survival and abundance.
Icelanders believe it possesses magical healing properties and is a favorite delicacy of the trolls and elves - the “Huldufólk” who inhabit the island. It is one of the most beautiful, extraordinary, and mysterious plants I have ever had the opportunity to observe and photograph.
