This photographic series explores the complexities of identity, culture, and femininity through an examination of how individuals understand, construct, and confront their sense of self. The work considers femininity not as a fixed or universal identity, but as something shaped by cultural expectations, personal experiences, relationships, and societal perceptions. Through portraiture and intentional visual composition, the series creates a space for both introspection and confrontation.
The images explore the tension between the identities we inherit and the identities we choose to create. Cultural traditions, social expectations, and external perceptions can influence how femininity is expressed and understood, often creating conflicting ideas of who one is expected to be versus who one truly feels themselves to be.
