"Baptism II."
Artist
Lish Atchison-Roeder & Kristine DalbeyDescription
"Using Mary as a symbol of passive obedience, the color blue references the Mother and brain scans with depression, questioning her free will under God. Mindless repetition in beading to create opulence accounted for individual and communal bodily decay, mirroring the notion of divine suffering under blind faith for the benefit of a ruler. A self-deprecating mantra composed of ten letters references the decades of the rosary in faith through parroting. Finally, the Baptism in the ocean represents the indoctrination into capitalist authoritarianism at the expense of the self."Try it!
