Arabian Nights is a 30x30 piece inspired by the opulence and vibrancy of colours and textures found in Arabic culture. Inspired by the enchanting Arabian tales, known as "One Thousand and One Nights", a collection of folktales compiled during the Islamic Golden Age, which I used to love as s child.
Growing up in the grey, austere landscape of communist Poland in the 70s and 80s, these tales were a portal to another world, a place of exotic landscapes, full of colour
scent, whispers of intrigue and wonder.
Imagine a caravan winding through endless dunes, where the desert meets the stars and the air is rich with the scent of spice and firelight. Deep blues, like midnight skies, mingle with molten gold and crimson embers, igniting the senses. Listen to the whispered words of Scheherazade, weaving tales to keep the night alive. Glistening crystals catch the light, like secrets waiting to be told.
