nspired by the ancient beauty of the ammonite and the ever-changing colours of the sea, 'Tides of Time' captures a sense of movement, history and the natural rhythms of the coast. Layers of turquoise, aqua, cobalt blue and fresh sea greens radiate through the spiral, interspersed with clear glass and delicate bubbles that catch and scatter the light. The transparent areas allow the surroundings to become part of the piece, changing its character throughout the day. The ammonite form connects the work to oceans of the distant past, while the vibrant palette reflects the colours of the North Devon coast today. Fused at high temperature, the individual pieces of glass soften and flow together while retaining their texture, creating a contemporary interpretation of an ancient natural form. Displayed in a simple black metal stand, the glass appears almost suspended, allowing light to illuminate every ripple, colour and detail.Try it!
