Studies for an Accidental Sculpture
Description
This piece is based on a photograph of a dog chew that has been mangled and discarded. The image has been manipulated and rendered in a two-dimensional visual field in contradistinction to the three-dimensional nature of sculpture. It is a study, implying it is a part of a process and not a 'finished' product but, in fact, there is not and never was a completed sculpture at the end of the process. The original chew was the sculpture created by a dog without intention and it is only through the intervention of the artist that any change of status can be considered while reversing the input/process/output causality normally associated with any production process.Try it!
