Willem Boronski’s painting combines Vincent van Gogh’s The Painter on the Road to Tarascon (1888) with Bob Dylan’s Tangled up in Blue (1975), evoking themes of loneliness and melancholy. Inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s lost painting, The Painter on the Road to Tarascon, which vanished during World War II, this exhibition presents a collection of short movies and the artworks featured within them. The movies delve into Van Gogh's symbolic journey to Tarascon and, more broadly, humanity's timeless migration across the globe.

Through the lens of Studio Boronski's distinctive stop-motion animations, the exhibition explores deep themes of migration, destiny, and the human condition. It reflects the same existential quest that Van Gogh embodied: the search for a place to create, to belong, and ultimately, to find peace. By merging Van Gogh’s artistic journey with the universal human desire for a better life, The Road to Tarascon transforms this historical narrative into a profound commentary on modern migration, media influence, and the unyielding human spirit.
