Linoprint on rice paper.
Unframed.
I saw an opportunity to create work in response to Standen House, an arts and crafts house owned by the national trust. I researched the house, and found that the décor was mostly by William Morris. I decided to create a piece incorporating Willow, one of his most well known wall paper designs, with some of the vases in the house. I then made a series of different lino prints, all featuring willow and vases.

This one is a silhouette of three vases, including one designed by William de Morgan, against a backdrop of willow leaves. This one I printed in just one colour, on thin rice paper, that is handmade. I feel this fits the ethos of the arts and crafts movement, which developed as a response to the industrial age and machinery replacing works by hand.
The piece is unframed and unmounted, if it is required I can mount and frame, at extra cost.

I live in a rural area of the southwest, near to the Ham Wall nature reserve. I love to explore the wetlands. I created a series of limited edition lino prints featuring the birds I see there. I always enjoy seeing the herons, so patiently standing amongst the reeds, waiting for a fish to come within striking distance. I hope I've captured this in this little image.

Inspired by Standen House, a national trust owned home influenced by the arts and crafts movement. After researching the house and contents, I decided I wanted to create a series of lino prints featuring William Morris designed wallpapers and vases found in the property.

This piece has a backdrop of Morris' willow paper, with a vase by William de Morgan. I printed it in sienna inks, then finished it with watercolours. I especially liked how the fish swim around the body of this vase, I hope I've managed to capture it.

This piece is mounted in a plain white, but is unframed.

Emerging from a moment long forgotten, this image travels through the fold of time - where the past breathes again in light. The tram glides between eras, carrying whispers of Nottingham’s yesteryears and the tenderness of memory reborn.

After a trip to The Shard I was inspired by the cityscape of London. I have made a few pieces of art using this technique, and of London, but this time I wanted to include Tower Bridge. I have used my Fractured style.

Amazon Grassland: Continually destroying the rainforest to produce grazing for the world-wide meat market. Allowing the constant hunt for fossil resources. Hoping to profit from the sacrilege.
Collapsing the planets lungs and poisoning the air with methane and carbon gases.
Poor quality grassland, another sterile desert in a few short years. (initially I saw the image & colours as a vision when I closed my eyes just before sleep).

The Green Room

Acrylic painting.
This semi-abstract painting grew out of my playful exploration of a still life. I can never resist experimenting with shapes, colours and composition, allowing the painting to evolve in its own unexpected way.

Still life with a Twist

My inspiration for this loose abstract painting was from a beautiful Peacock that appeared in my garden for a couple of days.
Framed size: 54cm. x74cm. Image size: 37cm x 49.50cm.

Pavo

My main inspiration as an artist is wildlife and nature. I love birds, and occasionally see swans along the river near where I live.
They are so graceful, yet quite characterful in their attitude. By painting loosely, but still with detail, I feel I captured this bird’s beauty.
This artwork is mounted.

I liked the juxtaposition of the exotic orchids with the ordinary clutter of my working kitchen, as they soaked amongst the washing up and implements on the draining board. I wanted to make a beautiful picture of utilitarian objects.

Chesterton windmill is an iconic landmark and has been the subject of many photographs and artworks. I decided to create a modern semi abstract landscape setting for this painting, and the addition of the pheasant links the idea of the windmill watching over the land with the pheasant watching over the windmill.

I have always loved the architecture of the Royal Pump Rooms in Leamington Spa and wanted to create a modern colourful piece that emphasised the perspectives. This painting aims to invite the viewer to see a familiar landmark anew — not as a static monument, but as a living space animated by light, movement and contemporary artistic vision.

Royal Pump Rooms

On a visit to Stoneleigh Abbey three years ago, I was drawn to the stunning architecture of the Orangery and took several photos intending to paint it at some point. This year I decided to create a collection of artworks featuring local scenes and this was included. I added the peacock holding court on the lawn to enhance the overall interest of the piece.

I have made a series of paintings about travel hubs such as stations. For me, they are places of transition; speaking of impermanence and change. This is a view of Stratford bus station, seen behind the foreground flowers and people.

Bass is an intuitive, spontaneous exploration of my enjoyment of music. Bringing together found objects, repurposed guitar components and expressive layers of paint, the piece reflects the energy, rhythm and raw physicality of music. Created through instinct rather than a predetermined concept, it celebrates the freedom of the creative process and the personal connection between music and visual art.

This piece is intended to provoke thought and encourage dialogue about the current state of the UK, exploring the social and cultural tensions shaping the country today. Through its visual language, the work invites viewers to question the world around them and reflect on the issues facing contemporary British society.

This piece explores the breakdown of communication in a world that is supposedly more connected than ever, questioning whether our increasing connectivity has brought us any closer to genuine human understanding.

I let the colours flow into each other then added more including a little blue to make it more interesting.

A Touch of Blue

Peony is a truly magnificent flower. For a long time, it has been worthy of the artist's canvases and palace halls. No wonder he is considered the king of all flowers. In terms of its beauty and luxuriance, the peony competed with the rose. It was loved both in ancient Europe and in ancient China. Legends were made about it. To this day, in the East, the peony is considered a flower that ignites passion...
This painting made it's way to the semi-finals in the ARTBOX.PROJECT Palma 2.0 exhibition!

After a recent trip to Kenya I was inspired by the space and the black and white of the herds of Zebras

In hotter climates the donkeys work. Transporting heavy bricks and building materials in hot conditions, traveling for miles in the dry, dust. A donkey’s life is a hard one, always seen as a beast of burden, ever since a donkey allegedly carried the son of god into Jerusalem. Forever to bear the burden of humankind.

Embers Beneath the Ice was inspired by my journey to Deception Island in Antarctica, a place that stayed with me long after I left. I was fascinated by its surreal and haunting history, the remains of a once-thriving whaling industry set within such an extraordinary, remote and beautiful landscape. There is something deeply moving about seeing a place marked by such a dark human history slowly reclaimed and transformed by the immense forces of nature. I wanted to capture that contrast in the painting: the cold, vast beauty of the Antarctic alongside a sense of what lies beneath it, and the feeling that the landscape holds memories of everything that has taken place there. The volcanic ash and touches of gold became part of that story, bringing warmth and light into the darker surface and reflecting the way beauty and renewal can emerge from even the darkest of histories.

Reverence was inspired by my fascination with the sheer drama and emotional power of colour in nature. I wanted to capture that feeling of standing before something so vast and beautiful that it commands a sense of awe and quiet respect. The intense turquoise, deep violets and flashes of warmer colour are deliberately heightened, reflecting the way a landscape can sometimes feel almost otherworldly in a moment of heightened emotion. That feeling of awe is what led me to call the work Reverence.
