Temporal Perspectivism is a research area in the fields of anthropology and archaeology that I found quite intriguing and after reading some academic papers on the subject I am still not sure exactly what it means. It seems to refer to the idea that different historical periods have different ways of understanding and interpreting the world. It also implies that there is no single objective truth but rather multiple perspectives that depend on the context and the time. My artwork depicts vague, fuzzy edges and colours indicating the uncertain nature of what we discover and the view that, given our interpretation is based on our own current view of the world, we cannot know for certain how past time periods were viewed by the people living through them. An analogy could be that we cannot fully understand or judge others unless we live their lives.Try it!
