I have sold a number of ducklings in the past and this delightful duckling, from a reference photo by Mark Butterworth, was enjoyable to create.
I used soft pastel for the background and water, and pastel pencils for the feathers and details. The paper I use is Artspectrum Colourfix. The sharpened pencils create the detail and the background is blended using polystyrene sticks to give the three-dimensional effect to the completed painting.
This painting is 8.5 inch by 12.5 inch - in it's frame it is 15 inch by 19 inch which is the perfect size for any wall.
