Harriet has been diagnosed with Pathological Demand Avoidance, as well as autism. PDA for short, is yet to be recognized in the DMSU, as it currently is in the United Kingdom. She feels that there could be more encouragement for diagnosed autistic creatives, as a growing presence of active artists on social media such as Instagram are opening up about their mental health backgrounds more than ever.
From an early age she had an interest in nature and art. Harriet was shown how to use watercolor paints by her grandfather, who subsequently encouraged her to create using other media such as acrylic, ink, lino-cut prints, photography and polymer clay.Try it!
