So when you are creating a painting, there is a part that is determined by your material.
In fresco, the material lives its own life… You have to adapt to what happens when your first layer dries and then ‘imagine’ the possibilities, a bit like in watercolour (or at least that’s the way I work with watercolours). It is precisely that element of surprise that gives an artist the thrill… the excitement of taking it further... there is no plan, you follow your heart.
I painted this painting from 4 sides, each side having a specific meaning, intent by ‘yours truly’, leaving it abstract enough for you to attribute meaning to it...
The runner, above water, the kiss or distance.
