Waving from the Balcony of the New Palace
Description
Shortly before her departure, the Queen, Prince Philip and Mr. and Mrs. Kiesinger waved to the crowd from the balcony of the New Castle. This gesture was part of royal protocol, as balcony appearances are a long-standing tradition in the British monarchy. Such public displays are highly unusual in German political culture and not typical for a Minister President.
