Description
This iconic red building built in 1925 used to be Katong Bakery. It's nostalgic for us 1970s babies because here you could get good old-fashioned bread, soft swiss rolls, curry puffs and other local pastries. Today it's a fancy cafe that serves sourdough bread, croissants, multi-grain loaves and other healthy... stuff. It was especially nostalgic for me because Aunty Betty's hairdressing salon where my mother and her sisters go for their haircut was just round the corner and that was where my cousins and I were herded to as well when it was our turn.
