Description
Jigukodani is a place that I have visited many times. Hidden between the mountains there is a small stream and a little further up you will find a hot spring with water coming from the geothermal springs. The Japanese macaques come down every day from the higher part to be fed at fixed times, mainly apples and grains. Part of the grains are thrown into the hot spring (depth: 1 m) and the macaques fish it out of the warm water. A good photographic location where sometimes more than 100 photographers are present, each busy to get the best place. The hot steam of the water, especially noticeable in winter, together with the snow make this type of photography attractive to many. The photo shows a youngster relaxed and enjoying the benefits of the hot water bath.
