Recollection No3
Description
Johannes Vermeer is a highly significant painter for me. I admire his works and his life as an artist too, but Recollection No. 3 is not a homage to his oeuvre. My intention was to make a new translation for timeless works by authentic artists such as Vermeer. I mixed aluminum sulfate into the ground, utilized in the work, causing the material to absorb water and create cracks on the surface. Into the oil paint I added marble dust and bone-ash (such as Velasquez) to make heavy and hard impasto. The aged, unusual look refers to all the works were made with the same intention in the past, today.rETry it!
