This is a TRUE STORY...a children-friendly imaginative version of a true story about a statue at the Sandy Spring Slave Museum (SSSM) that became its symbolic logo. . In 1995, I saw the statue in Ghana, West Africa. Later the same month, Dr. Winston A. Anderson, Founder of SSSM saw the statue & purchased it . In 2019 while sorting through photos from my trip to Ghana, I saw the same statue that I was currently sketching! This authentic history would inspire the video you are about to view. Enjoy!
