“Gradient Loss is a personal project I started after losing my father. It explores the five stages of grief, with a focus on depression and the feeling of life losing its color. I shoot in black and white, but I use color filters to subtly change the way light hits the image. Even though there’s no actual color, the filters shift contrast and texture, bringing out different emotions in each photo. Some images are symbols that represent the pain of losing him. Others come from a more instinctive place. They aren’t tied to a clear memory or meaning, but are shaped by feeling, mood, and response to the world around me.”Try it!
