Martín Piñeyro was born in Montevideo in 1977. He is a graphic designer and visual artist.
For over 25 years, he has maintained a close relationship between the worlds of design and visual art. He founded his own design studio and served as president of the Uruguayan Design Chamber. Since 2020, Martín has expanded his artistic skills at Gustavo Tabares’ workshop, focusing on exploring memory and identity, both personal and collective, through an empathetic lens and Pop culture elements.
His work deconstructs childhood memories, evoking the 80s and 90s shared experiences of TV, magazines, and VHS. He plays with vivid colors and intentionally imperfect strokes, aiming to recreate the joy and nostalgia of those memories. It’s not about analyzing trauma, but revisiting shared generational memories, inviting viewers to see childhood differently and reconnect with that sense of play.
The work is part of a quadriptych, available individually as reproductions.Try it!
