Vertigo No.2
Description
The Vertigo series is one of the most profound and symbolic developments in my artistic journey, based on the series of poems I titled The Parable. This series explores a crucial moment in the narrative I have been developing: the story of a Man who, after ten thousand years of slumber, awakens in a desolate and confined setting, a circular structure in the middle of a stormy ocean. This series reflects a process of introspection and rediscovery that transcends the individual to touch the universal and the eternal.
In my work, the ocean symbolizes not just a physical prison but also an allegory for Cuba, my homeland, seen as an island prison. It is a vast and tumultuous sea, an indomitable force that surrounds the Man, keeping him trapped in a cycle of hopelessness and disorientation. The circular structure where the Man has been endlessly walking is a metaphor for the cyclical nature of time and destiny, where ten thousand years dissolve into an endless dance of repetition and stagnaTry it!
