King Of The World (Hey Ma, you'll never guess where I am) is a painting about distance, arrival, and that brief, unforgettable moment when life suddenly opens out. I wanted this painting to hold something personal. It grew from the memory of my son going to New York as a young man to live and work. His first phone call home was from the roof of a skyscraper, shouting down the line, “Hey Ma, you'll never guess where I am.”Try it!
