The Queen’s visit was a milestone in the prosperous relationship between the two nations and had a far-reaching impact on future generations.These children were already brought up in this spirit and had the opportunity to learn English, as English became a compulsory subject in secondary schools in the Federal Republic of Germany following the Düsseldorf Agreement of 1955.
