This is a digital design from a canvas called Entwined, painted by O’Donovan in 2012.
At the time of painting, O’Donovan was studying hands. She was looking at the skin but also what lies beneath it like muscle, tendons, bones, joints, fat and ligaments. The way this mass of biology fits together was fascinating to her - she also enjoyed the shadow of one hand lying over the other.Try it!
