Description
House on Fire Ruin, part of Bears Ears National Monument in Utah, is an ancient Anasazi site known for its sandstone roof resembling flames. Determined to capture its beauty, we embarked on a vacation near Monument Valley. Despite the challenge of finding the elusive location, we obtained a map from a store in Bluff Utah. A rocky road and a quarter-mile hike awaited us, testing my physical limitations. Equipped with cameras and unwavering enthusiasm, we set out with our supportive wives. The weather was ideal, and the surroundings were picturesque. Along the way, I encountered a stumble, but my companions lifted me up. Just when I considered giving up, my buddy revealed the ruin was close by. Determined, I overcame a steep climb and captured the shot I desired. This experience reaffirmed my commitment to an active lifestyle, inspiring plans for retirement adventures and exploration alongside our amazing friends.
