The focus of the exhibition is Doofan's intimate depiction of her husband, a significant character in her life and a symbol of the present.


ARTIST STATEMENT
As an artist, I am always exploring new means of communication and self-expression via my work. My preferred medium is painting, and I often incorporate abstract and stylized elements into my work. I enjoy creating dynamic and expressive compositions utilising a range of methods, including brushwork, palette knife painting, printing, collage, and markings.

Presently, I am concentrating on the Kool cat Series, which embodies the essence of the moment. In the past, I have also explored themes of previous events and recollections via my paintings, utilising music as a source of inspiration.

Looking forward, I aim to continue evolving and growing as an artist, exploring with new themes and techniques as I go. I am particularly interested in painting speculative futuristic events, since I believe that art has the power to not only reflect the world around us, but also to shape and influence it.
