Description
The Instrumental Documentation series is simultaneously street photography and abstract emotion. From a distance the works look to be fine art abstract paintings of an emotional scene, however, upon closer inspection the image reveals to be a detail-filled accurate photograph of a quarter-second moment in time.
Inspiration for the creation of each image is taken from Coombs’ autism and the differences/struggles he faces. Using a quarter-second exposure time extends the amount of information recorded within frame, similar to how ASD increases the information and stimuli one experiences. The resulting blurriness is symbolic of how Alexithymia causes the inability to recognize emotions and their subtleties and textures.Try it!
