Description
Selfie Drama is a contemporary artwork that explores the intersection between art, technology, and culture. The artwork consists of a series of overlapping images arranged in a vertical linear graduation, reminiscent of an analog film camera pulling through frames of film. The leftmost image in the series is a replica of an original sketch by Auguste Rodin, entitled Ugolino and his Sons, created between 1880 and 1885. The image is rendered in a rough, gestural style, conveying a sense of emotional intensity and rawness. Following the Rodin sketch is a drawing from Gustav Klimt, entitled Male Nude with Left Foot on a Pedestal, created in 1879. The next image in the series is a pastel sketch of a naked man posing, sourced from the Rijksmuseum collection. The image is rendered in a realistic style, with an emphasis on light and shadow to create a sense of depth and dimensionality. The final image in the series is a vintage illustration of Venus, the Roman goddess of love and beauty.
